Twenty-year-old Daniel Serban loses his dancing job and threats of being outed to his family force him to flee Limerick, Ireland. Daniel fears his father and the other gypsy men will force him to marry his betrothed, or bring bodily harm to him for being gay.
As chance would have it, he ends up in Cleary’s Pub, a gay leather bar in Galway where he meets the grouchy, ginger-bear Ronan O’Riley. Daniel had no idea how much meeting the Dom would transform his life.
Ronan O’Riley has been unable to move on since the death of his sub a year ago, that is until a troubled gypsy boy steps into Cleary’s. Ronan’s lonely existence is about to change.
Can Ronan convince Daniel to trust him or will Daniel’s fears of his past ruin any chance of a relationship? Unexpected heated attraction in the barn ignites their relationship to move forward. Though the two men have many of the same dreams, Daniel’s secrets and Ronan’s need to gain Daniel’s trust are just a few of the many challenges they must overcome if they are to be together.

The Runaway Gypsy Boy Irish Runaway Series Book 1 edition by Brina Brady Book Cover By Designs Tina Adamski Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I have read all of the books that Brina has written and I have to say that she never fails to amaze me!!
I had the honor to beta read this book for her. What an amazing experience! To watch Daniel and Ronan grow was an experience that I will not soon forget!
It’s sexy, it’s heartbreaking, it’s loving! I laughed, I cried and I loved!! Her development of the characters really is something. She builds them up so that you actually feel like you know these two men. You know why they act the way they do.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series! I know it will be epic!
An almost 21-year-old boy named Daniel Serban gets fired from his job as a pole dancer because of whom he is related to. His first impulse is to run away, turning his back on his family, including an abusive father, his friends, his clan and everything he’s always known. Burying secrets deep within, Daniel runs away in order to find his place in the world, to be who he wants to be, to start a new life and break away from promises he never made. The unexpected occurs when he encounters Fate, a man named Ronan O’Riley.
This fast-paced story is filled with twists and turns, with a roller coaster of emotions and intrigue. Underneath it all is a burning love story between Daniel and Ronan. Is Daniel the sub that Ronan has found at last to fill his loneliness with love? Is Ronan the safe harbor that Daniel needs in his life?
It was difficult to put this story down. One moment I’m reveling in the discovery of new love and the next I fear for someone’s life. It’s a story of coming to terms with the past, escaping the horrors of so-called tradition and learning how to trust someone in every way in order to solidify a love that will last forever.
This is a wonderful journey and I am waiting anxiously for the next chapter. Brina Brady is brilliant in weaving us into this world with her storytelling mastery. Bravo Brina! Five loving stars!
This is the first book by Brina Brady that I've read that hasn't been one of her other series, so I was really excited to see what she came up with. I worried I wouldn't be able to bond with the new characters, but Brina does such a good job of letting you get to know her characters that you care about them pretty much from the start. Daniel can't do what his gypsy family asks of him, to marry his betrothed, because he can't lie about who he is. Daniel likes men and the thought of being sentenced to marrying someone he can't care for in the way she will need, is not an option. By chance, Daniel meets Ronan, a man who has shut his heart down after losing his beloved sub. No one has lit the fire in his heart since, that is, until he meets Daniel. Daniel needs to learn a lot about being a sub, but is willing to learn so he can be with Ronan. They face a lot of challenges together, but you will have to read it to find out what happens. Very highly recommended, can't wait for book 2!
I have to admit the title and premise of the story attracted me. I loved the idea of a young Gypsy man as the main character. Another reason I wanted to read this book is that I knew it was a daring choice for this author. Many people dislike people like Daniel and there is much racism, hatred, and misinformation for people like him. One thing that I found important to note even though there are some racist people in this story the book itself is not, In fact Ronan does some evolving himself as he progresses through the story. This book offers a moment to see the opportunity of love, compassion, and understanding unfold in a beautifully told story.
Daniel’s circumstances force him to leave his family and he decides the kind of life that he wants and discovers what he is willing to settle for. Ronan and Daniel meet in Cleary’s Pub and providence brings them together again later. Both men face the ghosts of their past and learn to trust again. I love the chemistry between Ronan and Daniel. The other characters are well rounded, and add so much to the story.
This book took me on a beautiful journey and gave me a bit of insight into some fascinating people. It is a great love story and shows the length that a man is willing to go to in the name of love and how love can grow when given the chance. It is a story of love, courage, strength, character, and integrity.
